Fans seems to be taking this more heavily than the band. For Troy, the band’s creator, this isn’t a bad thing: “I like pseudonym’s because they allow you to be consistent. As Tim said, ‘This is sounding more like Crazy Horse than Neil.’” Troy has a long history of moving from genre to genre so it’s no surprising that he’d fall back into his rock roots.

And after the show, what will happen? “There Is No Sin was style for us. We’re just recording something different. It wasn’t fair to label it as a TINS project,” Troy added. “We’re the same people. I’d love Christophe to handle the images…Tim and Al haven’t gone anywhere…maybe Rukshan will shoot a video.”

The show will be a fun return for TINS too. It was one of the first venues that the band played in Portland and Troy’s affinity for Blue is clear. It’ll be a fun sendoff. See you there!

We have a surprise for you. As if it were leaked from a secret lab, here is a screenshot from the new There Is No Sin video!

We know two things so far: the actress in the video is Marla Giese and the filmmaker is, once again Ruwan. This is the third video (fourth?!) that Ruwan–he of the monkey video fame–has done with Troy’s music. It’s a very exclusive club, filmmakers.

And does Ruwan have an upcoming short film? IMDB says he does!

It’s an intimate show at Portland’s Slainte. Should kick off around 9.

Troy and Tim will be playing a mostly acoustic set. No drums tonight! Maybe a bit of iPad though!

Like the video for “El Cid,” this one too was shot in California. The costume, the official mascot for local pub The Snug, was shipped from Maine to be worn by an “as yet to be revealed” actor.

The plot was developed by There Is No Sin’s Troy Keiper but Mr. Thenuwara brought a bit of lightness to the theme. Keiper says, “The video had all of the elements that I’d pictured but Rukshan saw the humorous side of the monkey’s life. I adore what he did.”

They’re playing a show at Store 54 this Saturday alongside Boston faves Embrionic. They’re on at about 10:30 from what we hear. For emerging details, you can check out the tour page at the band’s site.
